Ron, a California native, has dedicated over five decades to the finance industry. Together with Susan, they shared a commitment to addressing a broad spectrum of needs, always striving to make a meaningful impact in the lives of those in need. Ron holds the title of a certified Financial Analyst and is also recognized as a fellow of the Financial Analyst Federation, a testament to his expertise in the finance sector.

Beyond his financial career, Ron actively serves as a member of the Vanderbilt Cancer Center Advisory Board, demonstrating his dedication to supporting cancer research and patient care.

Family-wise, Ron has been blessed with two daughters, four grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren, marking a rich and enduring family legacy.

Ron’s community engagement extends to the arts and philanthropy. He served on the Board of the Lobero Theatre in Santa Barbara, reflecting his commitment to the cultural enrichment of his community. Additionally, he is involved in various non-profit organizations in South Carolina, with a focus on promoting family values, environmental stewardship, and animal welfare. These endeavors underscore Ron’s passion for making a positive impact on society in diverse and meaningful ways.

A native of California Diana brings a valued perspective to her leadership, not only as an advisory role in non-profits but as a business owner in California and Montana, for 30 plus years. Having had the experience of raising a daughter who entered the military, a son with a rare chromosomal abnormality and surviving breast cancer, Diana brings a unique perspective. While mindful of the need to foster new ideas, and innovative techniques, she remains steadfast in the values of the foundation.

Tom McFarlin

Treasurer

As a Business owner Tom embodies the meaning of the foundation. He continually brings new ideas to the table, for veterans and their families. He has made great strides with “Next Wave” and “Shelter to Soldier” in the San Diego areas. Tom is an avid sportsman and realizes the importance of outdoor activities for rehabilitation.

Karen Morrow Runke

Karen is a lifelong advocate for causes related to education. She drives the mission for Early Childhood education with a Masters in Human Diversity in Education and 25 plus years experience of teaching. Karen’s involvement in education is balanced with her passion for the day to day work with the values of the foundation.

Gerald is a lifelong advocate for the preservation of the environment and the wellbeing of our ecosystems. Having traveled extensively through the Western United States forests Gerald has become passionate about teaching people how to live with nature. While spending time in the Wasatch Back and meeting with professionals, Geralds advocacy for our environment has only increased.

Getting behind a dynamic cause is where Jennifer stands. She is the driving force behind Combat Veterans Assistance. Being born and raised into a military family has equipped Jennifer with a deep understanding and empathy for our nation’s veterans. Her passion is her family and within that scope she uses her strength to aid other families and individuals facing critical struggles.

Cam Varner

As an ardent patriot Cam whole heartily encapsulates the ideals of our forefathers. He owns and runs his own business in South Carolina, where he is actively involved in the community. Cams’ passions for helping people transfer into the category of Cancer research and Health care after losing his own father to esophageal cancer at a young age.

Cam was raised in Greenville, SC as the youngest of three boys. He received his undergraduate degree from Clemson University in 2012 and is in the post-graduate program at The Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Cam lost his father to esophageal cancer in 2013 and is passionate about advancing cancer screening and treatment. In his free time, he enjoys playing golf and volunteering for Transitions Homeless Center in Columbia, SC, and Meals on Wheels.
